This project meets the NGO FAITH’s objective 3, which is to inform, educate and communicate for a change in hygiene and health behaviour.
It aims to contribute to the qualitative improvement of the health of our populations.
SDG 3 expressly states that “Allowing everyone to live healthy lives and promoting the well-being of all at all ages.”
But how can we promote the well-being of our people and enable them to live in good health if they themselves are ignorant of basic hygiene and health rules?
Prevention is the best treatment they say; but how many of our fellow citizens are informed by health professionals of the measures to prevent common pathologies that are decimating men and women before our eyes?
Also, our countries are mostly made up of illiterate populations that do not understand the language of Molière let alone that of Shakespeare. For this reason, any true information that is brought to them in their native languages will only benefit them.
It is all these reasons that justify this project, which aims to be a showcase for health professionals to popularize the real and good information on hygiene and health that will positively impact the daily lives of the peoples of Africa and the world; leading them not only to a change in health behaviour but also to the adoption of hygiene and sanitation rules and the eradication of risky behaviours.
Various themes on infectious diseases, noncommunicable diseases, genetic diseases, hygiene and sanitation rules, health economics, etc. will be approached by health professionals: doctors, nurses, social workers, senior technicians in hygiene and sanitation to name a few.
In the short, medium, and long term, we will contribute to the achievement of SDG 3 but also to that of SDG 6 in a large proportion.
Periodically, 15-minute programs hosted by health experts are produced and broadcast by the NGO FAITH and partner media.
These programs are animated in French as well as in Fon or other local Beninese languages depending on the ability of the animators proposed by the NGO FAITH to handle those languages.
The focus is each time on preventive rules and measures in order to act upstream on the occurrence of diseases and disabilities.
In addition, practical actions and behaviours to be taken in the face of certain incidents or accidents are taught along with advice.
